The role of foot marshals (crowd control) and customer service along the Parade Route is our largest need for volunteers.
Our volunteers may be assigned a variety of roles depending on their skills and mobility. Some assignments include:
Crowd control along the Parade Route;
Crowd control along streets adjacent to the Route to prevent people and traffic from entering controlled areas
Facilitating the pushing of wagons to return them to storage after the Parade;
Helping participants get down from their wagon at the end of the Parade, and removing important items from the wagon to return to the participants
Volunteers for the Parade need to be available to report for duty to the Rodeo Grounds by 5:30 AM and stay until Noon on Parade Day, Thu. Feb 23. Lunch and a ticket (one) to Thursday’s rodeo will be provided to interested volunteers after their service on Thursday.
A volunteer meeting is scheduled for 1/28/17, which we will miss, but if we have enough volunteers they will hold a separate meeting for our group.
As Parade Day volunteers you will all be invited to our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner (March 18), must be 21+ years of age to attend.
