Come support the Community Food Bank by gleaning orange trees on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. at 6421 N. Treasure Drive, Tucson, AZ and 590 W. Orange Grove, Tucson, AZ. We will meet at the northwest corner of Oracle and Orange Grove at 9 am. CFB has asked for 30 or more TEP CAT volunteers of any age (7 and older recommended) to work at neighboring houses to pick oranges from trees (about 80 trees in all), which have been donated to the Community Food Bank to feed the community. It takes about 1 hour for one person to glean a tree, so the more people we have, the faster we will be done for the day. It is suggested that volunteers wear closed-toed shoes, gloves, long sleeved shirts and are asked to wear a blue TEP CAT volunteer T-shirt, if possible. CFB will provide the sticks/tools to pick the fruit, but if you have your own stick, you are encouraged to bring it with you. You will need to take your own water and have a plan of where to go for potty breaks. There are no restrooms or water available.
